First, congratulations to President Obama for winning the 2009 Nobel Peace prize. It came as a surprise to many, even the White House.
It will be his first accomplishment since his presidency. It’s especially noteworthy because he’d have had only been in the office a couple of weeks as the deadline for the prize nomination was February 3.
So how does one win the Nobel Peace prize? Destroy the economy? Check. Failure to fulfill promise of closing Gitmo? Check. Inability to pass health care reform legislation? Check. Ruining a city’s chances of hosting the Olympics? Check. Ignoring the plea of a commanding general fighting a war? Check.
The President now joins the ranks of other famous recipients like Jimmy Carter, Yassar Arafat, and Al Gore. But seriously, we all know who should’ve won.
Beyonce.
