Citizens of New Jersey, you are blessed to have a governor like Chris Christie (R). You voted for change in the governor’s mansion and you sure got it. New Jersey is one of the states with the heaviest tax burdens and the state Democrats continue to tackle the economic problem with more taxes — the latest to target the wealthy — but Gov. Christie clearly understands Economics 101: New Jersey has a spending problem, and it cannot be fixed by imposing more taxes. The last thing the state needs is to drive away rich people. These are the people with the means to buy more and hire more, and it’d be stupid to unfairly tax them and piss them off.
It’s admirable to see Gov. Christie sticking by his principles. You can tell that he’s in office not to make friends, but to make a better New Jersey. He understands his job perfectly well.
The bill to tax the rich passed the Assembly and the state Senate, but Christie wasted no time to veto. Now the NJ legislature needs a 2/3 majority to override the veto.
President Obama could learn a thing or two from this Republican.
