As many as 60,000 senior citizens have canceled their AARP membership since July 1 to protest the organization’s support for health care reform. That’s not a whole lot of cancellations considering AARP has more than 40 million members, but the negative publicity could prove to be damaging in the near future. Seniors are a united voting bloc and health care is their central concern. Right now the momentum truly favors the opposition just by looking at all the angry town hall attendees and the Democrats’ desperation in saying anything to make the plan more attractive.
End-of-life? For many, end-of-AARP
