How dare a couple of elitist, left-wing, liberal Democrat leaders in Congress write an op-ed in USA Today labeling those who oppose ObamaCare as “un-American”?! House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) writes:
These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.
Health care is complex. It touches every American life. It drives our economy. People must be allowed to learn the facts.
Yes, un-American. That’s on top of calling protesting citizens a mob and Nazis. The “facts” they talk about are nothing more than talking points to mislead the general public about nationalized health care. The Democrats seem to think that with a majority in Congress, they know exactly what the people think, and that the people are always in support of their government expansionism.
Wrong, wrong, wrong! The people gave the Democrats a chance to prove themselves, and it’s looking like they have failed miserably. Now they are desperate to regain traction, but they are just so out of touch with the mainstream. But instead of evaluating their own performances, their knee-jerk reaction is to point fingers at the other side.
Liberals always pride themselves in their dissenting voice and diversity of opinion — that’s American. Now in power they wish to clamp down on the opposition — that’s is an un-American thing to do!
