DNC admits flag@whitehouse.gov gathered personal info

Evidently the DNC is confused about volunteering your personal info versus somebody else giving it:

Even though the White House subsequently disabled the tip box, Cornyn hit this again today, demanding to know how the White House intends to “use” the email address it may have already collected and insisting on a “purge” of the info.

Now the DNC is striking back by pointing out that similar email collection is done on the Web sites of Senators and members of Congress, including … John Cornyn.

Over on Cornyn’s Senate Web site, for instance, you find that people who want to contact the Senator are asked to submit personal info, such as their names, addresses and emails, which are all required.

Let’s see… Would DNC Chairman Gov. Tim Kaine (D-VA) appreciate someone writing his cell phone number on the bathroom walls of an unknown gas station? Flag@whitehouse.gov is that bathroom wall.
