January 19, the crucial U.S. senate election in Massachusetts between Scott Brown (R) and Martha Coakley (D) — the difference between a continued Senate Democratic majority or handing Senate Republicans #41. This election is ever so important because the Democrat House and Senate leadership are currently working behind closed doors to merge the gigantic health care “deform” bill.
And again, they will try to stuff it down our throat whether you like it or not.
Ignore the polls in this race for now. The PPP has shown Brown in a small lead, but the Globe has Coatley leading double digits.
It doesn’t matter. You go out to vote regardless of poll numbers, regardless of rain, snow, or shine on that Tuesday.
One thing is for certain: the liberals are panicked and that only means Brown has the momentum.
We know they are panicked because the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office said that should Brown win the race, his swearing-in may be delayed so the health care bill could be passed first.
Say what?! Here’s the double standard:
In contrast, Rep. Niki Tsongas (D-Lowell) was sworn in at the U.S. House of Representatives on Oct. 18, 2007, just two days after winning a special election to replace Martin Meehan. In that case, Tsongas made it to Capitol Hill in time to override a presidential veto of the expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
Oh sure, do it fast when it’s convenient, huh? Dirty politics.
Support Scott Brown for U.S. Senate.
