Stupak stands firm

Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) deserves credit for sticking to his pro-life principles and uniting a group — the “Stupak Dozen” — of pro-life Democrats to oppose the health care bill. I can only imagine the pressure he and his group are feeling coming from their constituents, their party leaders, the White House, the liberals, and anyone in-between. The Democrat leaders’ view on federally funded abortion ought to sicken you:

What are Democratic leaders saying? “If you pass the Stupak amendment, more children will be born, and therefore it will cost us millions more. That’s one of the arguments I’ve been hearing,” Stupak says. “Money is their hang-up. Is this how we now value life in America? If money is the issue — come on, we can find room in the budget. This is life we’re talking about.”

All signs point to the Democrats ramming this bill through without second thought. Brace yourselves, it’s going to be a bumpy ride next week!
