Where are the liberals in town hall meetings?

By now you have probably seen dozens of videos of town hall meetings where the the senator or representative faced passionate and angry attendees criticizing his or her endorsement of the bloated health care bill. During the August recess, members of Congress are in their districts holding town hall meetings to face their constituents (okay, there are a few who are scared to face the public and chose to hold “virtual” meetings via telephone), and it’s proven to be a month to remember. People are packing the meeting rooms and voicing — sometimes shouting — their concerns of not just ObamaCare, but the general direction these politicians are leading us toward.

One thing that struck me is that there hasn’t been many videos of liberals at these meetings in support of or defending their embattled Congressman. Where are they? It can’t be that only the opposition is attending these meetings. If so then shame on the liberals for not participating in town halls, a tradition in American politics. And if some liberals are indeed in attendance, then why aren’t they standing up to defend the Congressman or ObamaCare?

Scared? Ashamed? Converted?

It’s actually good that members of Congress are away from Washington to hear what their voters have to say. Welcome to the real America. People are scared to death about massive socialized government programs, and they will not sit still waiting for the White House and Congress to shove ObamaCare down their throats. At least not without a fight.

That is the American way.
