The young man that convinced Twitter to stay open for Iran

Here’s a fascinating tidbit related to the current Iran protests. The gentleman from the State Department who talked to Twitter about delaying its maintenance window (so that it falls on late night, Iran time) is Jared Cohen, a member of the Policy Planning Staff. More about this young gentleman:

And imagine our further surprise when we learned this young gentleman wasn’t one of Barack Obama’s social media geniuses, but instead was a Condi Rice pick hired specifically to advise the State Department on young people in the Middle East and how to “counter-radicalize” them.

You’re doing a great job, Mr. Cohen!
