Unbelievable. This is one of the things that frustrate me about the Obama administration… They decide on policy that defies common sense, just blindly pursue the agenda.
“We hate George W. Bush! Gitmo reminds us of him and his torturous deeds. Let’s shut it down!” Guess what? The prisoners don’t want to relocate to the supermax facility in Illinois. And also guess what? They get to have lawyers file suits to stall the relocation.
The administration has claimed of the poor treatment of prisoners at Gitmo, but it’s obviously not the case. Why else would these detainees prefer staying put?
Come on, Mr. President. It’s time to concede that closing Gitmo was never ever a good idea. Just let it go.
