Investigate CIA interrogators, hope to improve polls?

Is Attorney General Eric Holder acting on his own in pursuing an investigation of CIA personnel involved in the Enhanced Interrogation Program during the Bush administration? I seriously doubt it. I’m sure President Obama is calling the shots even though they are putting up the facade that the president is against looking in the past. Holder has already picked John Durham to lead the inquiry, and the W.H. voiced support for the attorney general’s independent work.

I believe this is about President Obama’s falling approval numbers. Gallup has another new low for the president. I’m sure the downtrend in polls just annoys the heck out of him. Remember, Barack Obama was a junior senator (won by default) who’d spent his senatorial term running for president and won. By all accounts it was almost too easy, and he truly believes this country is ready for his radical political philosophy.

Well, he’s wrong. People gave him a chance with the stimulus. Another chance given to take over failing financial institutions. Then a little skeptical about owning auto companies. Now people are enraged, as captured by dozens of town hall videos, about more spending in the shape of health care reform. His approval numbers are falling by the day, and he’s thought of the perfect distraction…

It all goes back to George W. Bush. It’s nothing new as he’s blamed Bush many times since the beginning of his presidency. Why not let Eric Holder do something proactive to appease the anti-CIA liberals and take the focus away from the depressing news about ObamaCare?

The administration now treads on dangerous ground. Even CIA Director Leon Panetta isn’t happy about Holder looking over his shoulders. These CIA employees busted their butts to protect the country in light of al Qaeda’s vast reach, and now they’ve become targets of this administration. These people ought to receive our gratitude and not prosecution.

To quote Rep. Peter King (R-NY), “You wonder which side they’re on.”
